Choose the column that matches the measurement system. “oz” on its own does not tell you whether the quantity is a fluid volume or a weight.

Know your units
12oz to ml conversion formula
The US and Imperial fluid ounce are different units of volume. The converter defaults to US fluid ounces; change the selector when your recipe or specification uses Imperial units.
US fluid ounce
12 fl oz ≈ 355 mL
Multiply the number of US fluid ounces by 29.5735295625.
12 × 29.5735295625
= 354.88235475 mL
Imperial fluid ounce
12 fl oz ≈ 341 mL
Multiply the number of Imperial fluid ounces by 28.4130625.
12 × 28.4130625
= 340.95675 mL
Fluid ounces are not ounces of weight
A fluid ounce measures volume; an ounce of weight measures mass. You cannot convert 12 oz of flour, coffee beans or another ingredient to mL from the weight alone. You need its density: volume (mL) = mass (g) ÷ density (g/mL). Packing and temperature can also matter, so do not use this liquid-volume calculator as a weight converter.
From conversion to cup selection
Is a 12 oz cup 360 mL?
Not as an exact unit conversion. 12 US fluid ounces is 354.88235475 mL, not 360 mL. A product sold as a “12 oz cup” may use a nominal size name; that label is not a measurement of every cup’s capacity.
Check the rated capacity
Ask whether the supplier’s mL figure is nominal, recommended fill or brimful capacity. Do not assume they describe the same fill level.
Allow for the drink
Confirm the intended serving volume and space for foam, ice, toppings or a lid. Test the actual cup with your drink and service method.
Verify the fit
Request the selected cup’s rim diameter, height and base diameter, plus its matching lid reference. The “12 oz” name alone cannot confirm lid fit.
For more on the physical format, read the 12 oz cup size guide. Always check dimensions against the exact product you intend to order.

The calculator uses 29.5735295625 mL per US fluid ounce and 28.4130625 mL per Imperial fluid ounce. It keeps the full conversion factor for calculation and rounds only the displayed result. Unit references are listed here; cup selection notes describe what to verify with the supplier, not a tested capacity claim.
